NEW MUSIC ALERT: I am excited to share this rendition of Psalm 82 as part of the new @cardiphonia compilation. Back in 2015 a congregant at @servantchurchtx sent me a live recording of a musical setting that @joel_littlepage made of this Psalm. We used it in liturgy a couple of times and I have always wished we did a real recording with @thegentlewolves. Flash forward a decade, @benedictfamtastic reached out regarding the new Psalm collection (my fifth to be part of) and I grabbed Psalm 82. It's been the perfect excuse to finally lay down a recording of Joel's fantastic composition. I ended up extending each verse and am please with how it came out. Link in the bio!

NEW MUSIC ALERT: The new Heartswarm song, Ceiling/Floors, is available on all the streaming services! Link in bio! In 2021 my dad had a stroke, which effectively ended his career and independence. He is no longer able to drive. I had a dream one night last year that he and I were traveling together along the Pacific Northwest coast (his favorite part of the country). He was driving, I was sleeping in the passenger seat. We never talked about it in the dream but it was understood that we were driving to Vancouver in order for him to peacefully end his life. I woke up feeling loss, even though I knew he is still with us for the time being. I feel sad that I will never again experience my dad driving me around, listening to music. This song wrestles with his diminishing quality of life (ceilings) and rising floors of minimum acceptability (floors). At some point they intersect. Thankfully, we are not there yet, and my father still has some good days left ahead of him. I love him very much and hope that the fears laid out in this song are never realized. I hope this music can give you hope, even as ceilings and floors intersect in your life. 🙏🏻
